Los Banos Rotary Club History James J. Uhle, Merced accountant, was guest speaker at the Rotary Club luncheon Tuesday noon, speaking on the various phases of federal taxation, and explaining certain of the more recently enacted laws regulating income tax payments. Improperly
kept records, Uhle said, were the most frequent cause for federal claims for delinquent
income tax, and he urged every farmer and businessman to keep an accurate record
of all business transactions so that his income tax report might be properly prepared.
He also explained portions of the law concerning sale and purchase of real property,
and a new provision of the law requesting employers to report the whole amount
of wages paid, even though the total wage paid is less than $500 a year. Page
