Banker
Tells of Estate Problems
A. K. Falch of
Fresno, trust officer for the Bank of America, addressed members of the Los Banos
Rotary Club Tuesday noon on the subject of estates and protection of estates.
Declaring that the ultimate objective of every man is to establish security
for his family and provide an education for his family and provide an education
for his children, Falch said it is lamentable that the average man is so lax or
negligent in providing a will or trust so that on his death his family will receive
the care and protection he had intended.
Though the possibility of our own
death might not be pleasant to think about, it is none the less necessary to prepare
for such eventuality, Falch emphasized, to avoid needless litigation and family
worry. Citing the custom of preparing gift deeds that are not recorded, the speaker
said that such deeds can be legally contested, and in many instances fail to accomplish
the desired aim.
Filch also warned of the many legal provisions that must
be complied with in the distribution and settlement of estates, and urged that
business men exercise the same legal caution in establishing their estate that
they would in the protection of their current business interests.
The
speaker was introduced by Rotarians Gene Pappani, manager of the Los Banos branch
of the Bank of America.
Italo Mastrangelo was a guest at the club luncheon
as an official representative of the 20-30 Club and spoke briefly to extend an
invitation to Rotary to attend a Coaches' Night program to be presented by the
20-30ians in the very near future. An invitation has also been extended to the
Lions Club members.
