Musical Treat For Rotarians
Members of the local Rotary Club were treated to an especially fine musical program Tuesday as Mrs. Lois Stafford, a private music instructor residing in Modesto, and two of her advanced students presented a program of violin and piano numbers. Vieing with the professional quality of Mrs. Stafford and her youthful violin pupil, Anita Gregory, was the piano technique of the 13-year old accompanist, Alice Wildermuth. All were exceptionally well received by the group of Rotarians.
The program opened with two violin numbers by Mrs. Stafford, Romance from Concerto, by Wiemauski, and Mazurha, by Borrowski. Then Mrs. Stafford and Miss Gregory played Dark eyes, Estrellita and Angels' Serenade; Miss Wildermuth gave a piano number, Impromptu in C Minor, by Reinhold; and the program was concluded with two violin solos by Mrs. Stafford, Spanish Dance and Ave Maria, by Schubert.
The program was arranged by Rotarian Manuel Calderon, a friend of Mrs. Stafford.
