Rotarians Hear District Governor
Los Banos Rotarians Tuesday noon heard their district governor, Dr. Ernest F. Soderstrom, of Modesto, review the physical structure of the organization and emphasis the benefits that accrue to a community in which there is a live, active Rotary Club.
Citing Rotary's "4-Way Test" as a guide for good living and good citizenship by every Rotarian, Dr. Soderstrom said the test embodied, in civic living, all the cardinal points of the Golden Rule, and likewise comprised the cardinal virtues of good sportsmanship.
The 4-way test is: 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is it fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build good will and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Commenting briefly on the international relationships in the club, Dr. Soderstrom particularly stressed the value of friendship and association with the South American countries, urged that Americans generally learn to read and speak Spanish or Portuguese, the predominating languages of South America.
