Rotarians Hear School Chorus
The spirit of the Christmas Season came to the local Rotary club at their luncheon Tuesday noon with the presentation of a special 40-voice mixed chorus from the Los Banos High School, under direction of Richard Miller. Miss Lynda Hagle was accompanist for the group.
The very excellently rendered program opened with Christmas Roundelay, by Young, and included several other selections, mostly taken from the school's special Christmas concert that was presented at the school auditorium Thursday. In the concluding number Miss Lorraine Simas was featured as soloist in the song, One Little Candle.
Frank Peluso was program chairman for the day.
Rotary President Ned Dickson welcomed Ken Reid, manager of the local Bank of America, as a new member of the club.
The Christmas Season also provided an opportunity for the club to express its appreciation to Troop 85 Scoutmaster Bill Hurley for the very fine service he has rendered to the club and the Scouts as the Troop's leader and advisor, and he was presented with a complete Scoutmaster's uniform. The presentation was made by Rotary past president Charles Kaljian.
Dickson announced plans for a Ladies' Night program to be held at Canal Farm Inn next Monday night.
