Rotary Club Installs Officers
M.D. Wheat, local manager of the Pacific Gas and Electric Co., was installed as president of the Rotary Club at the luncheon meeting Tuesday noon. He took office in a brief informal ceremony conducted by retiring president Francis Buck, who later in the meeting made his official swan song, expressing appreciation to the directors, committeemen and members who had assisted him in Rotary matters during the year, and wishing success to the incoming president.
A treasurer's report by Joe Silva indicated that the club, financially, was in much the same condition as at the beginning of the year, with just enough dollars in the bank to be considered a solvent institution. A summary of expenses during the past year showed that the club had participated to its fullest financial extent in fostering and supporting a goodly number of civic projects, the largest being the annual reception and barbecue dinner tendered local and visiting members of the Future Farmers and 4-H Clubs during Spring Fair week.
