Rotary Club To Host Local Youngsters At Annual Christmas Theater Parties
The Los Banos Rotary Club, in cooperation with Crest Theatres, Inc., will hold its annual Christmas theatre parties for Los Banos children Monday, December 23, at the Crest Theatre. Approximately 1,750 tickets have been distributed to local children in all local schools.
The program, all Walt Disney productions, will include "Stormy, the Thoroughbred" as the feature, and five other color cartoons, according to theatre manager Mrs. Frank J. Silva Jr.
The hour and a half program will be shown twice, the first time at 9:30 a.m., with an afternoon showing set for 1 p.m. Tickets are evenly distributed between the two showings.
Santa Claus will be on hand for each of the two parties to distribute a Christmas stocking of candy to each child in attendance. Rotary members will be on hand to assist with the party.
B. A. Wilson, chairman of the Rotary project, urged all parents in the rural districts to bring their children in to the theatre parties.
Wilson added that youngsters with tickets for the morning show who are unable to attend that showing, will be admitted to the afternoon show if space permits.
Assisting Wilson with arrangements are Sid Rowe and Jack Duarte of the Rotary Club.
