Rotary Club To Welcome Governor
The Rotary Club of Los Banos will be host to C. Edward Best, governor of the 158th district of Rotary International who is making his annual official visit to each of the 67 Rotary Clubs in his District. He will address the club Tuesday at the regular Rotary meeting and Monday, following a dinner at Carlos, he will confer with President, Jess Teles, secretary, Charles Alden and other officials at the Recreation Hall. He will advise members on Rotary Administration and service activities, and on plans for the participation by the Rotary Club in the worldwide observance of Rotary's Golden Anniversary, February 23 – June 2.
Best is manager of the PPacific Telephone and Telegraph Co, in Stockton and has been a member of the Rotary Club of that city since 1941. He was born in Enderlin, North Dakota, and was graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
Wherever Rotary Clubs are located, President Telles asserted in discussing the Governor's visit, their activities are similar to those of the Rotary Club of Los Banos because they are based on the same general objectives.
