Rotary Officials Meet in Los Banos

Rotary Club presidents and secretaries of six west side cities, Mendota, Dos Palos, Los Banos, Gustine, Newman and Patterson, gathered at the Canal Farm Inn here Friday evening to meet with the new District 158's Governor, Dr. Ernest Soderstrom of Modesto, and to make plans for the new Rotary year.

Besides Dr. Soderstrom, those in attendance included President Ed Mulkey and Secretary Ed Eggleston of Dos Palos; Harold Black and Edward Perinon of Mendota; Robert J. Moffet and George Freymiller of Gustine; Wm. S. Thompson and Randall B. Boswell of Newman; Glenn Hamilton and Dave Leaf of Patterson, and O. R. Zentner and Charles Alden of Los Banos.
The seventh Rotary club on the west side, Firebaugh, was not represented at the meeting.

Dr. Soderstrom, in outlining his plans for the year, stressed the importance of attendance and inter-city fraternalization and expressed the hope that District 158 could maintain its past attendance record during the year. Last year the 2424 members of the 36 clubs in the district led all of the United States and Canada in attendance, and last May set a record of 97.43 per cent perfect attendance.

Soderstrom announced he would make his official visit to west side clubs in September and will be in Los Banos for such purpose on September 24 and 25, conferring with club officers and committee heads the evening of the 24th and addressing the club membership at the noon luncheon on the 25th.
