Tells Of Plans For Ag School
E. A. Egan, dean of agriculture at Fresno State College, Tuesday noon told members of the Los Banos Rotary Club something of the plans and development of the valley's new agriculture school at Fresno. The ag. college, which has been in process of formation for the last two years will be in full scale operation with the beginning of the next semester, Egan said, and advance interest indicates a capacity enrollment.
The San Joaquin valley, Egan said, has long needed a practical agricultural school such as is being provided at Fresno, where young farmers might gain both technical training and practical experience in farming operations.
In no other section of the world, Egan emphasized, is agriculture so diversified and specialized as it is here in the San Joaquin valley, and no other school provides the varied training that will be made available at Fresno.
Egan said that the college is endeavoring to enlarge its staff in readiness for the expanded program that will start next spring, and said he anticipates that at least 100 additional students can be accommodated with the beginning of the next semester.
