Trust Officer Tells Of Wills and Estates
Edwin McInnis, of San Francisco, trust officer for the Bank of America, was guest speaker at the Rotary Club luncheon Tuesday noon. Telling of wills and estates, McInnis related many humorous and tragic instances of people in their attempts to provide for loved ones in the distribution of their estates, or deprive legally entitled relatives, for whom they held no such providing love.
He related many instances of his own experiences in handling trust estates, and of the difficulty in properly interpreting the wishes and desires of the bank's clients in the trust department.
McInnis urged that every adult person execute a proper will, and recommended that an attorney be consulted in the proper preparation of such instrument. He also emphasized the importance of proper planning of larger estates to provide for taxes, etc. Putting in a final plus for his bank, McInnis recommended that the bank's trust department is the ideal medium through which estates can be most economically and satisfactorily handled.
