Los Banos Rotary Club History
Rev. Beaver is Rotary Speaker

Rev. Henry F. Beaver, pastor of the local Methodist church, was the speaker at the Rotary club luncheon Tuesday noon. Asked to speak on some phase of his life work, Rev. Beaver gave an interesting analysis of the physical and spiritual parts of man, with brief comment on his work here in Los Banos as a leader in the spiritual development of man.

Rev. Beaver traced the development of man through the ages, and explained that the physical and mental development has advanced in direct ratio to Christianity. God himself, while on earth, placed great emphasis on physical development and spent much time and energy in administering to man’s physical and mental needs.

Pointing out that much time, thought and money is today spent to develop people physically, Rev. Beaver warned that the spiritual side also should not be neglected, and counseled his listeners that higher level of life could be attained and enjoyed by close adherence to the spiritual life as represented in the local churches.

Concluding his talk, the speaker commended the community spirit shown by the people of Los Banos by their support and friendliness to the churches, and at the same time deplored an apparent dilatory attitude toward attendance.
Atty. Gregory P. Maushart presided at the club luncheon in the absence of President George B. Pimentel, who was attending a Rotary club luncheon in Modesto.
